Thank you so much to everyone for submitting.

WE found it really hard to read the submissions through all of our tears.

It was a draw for first and second place and we ended up having to decide with a coin toss. Read all of the winning submissions here.

We were so moved by the submissions that in the end we created a few more categories.

 Thank you,
Amanda, Andrea, Christina + Teal

To Julie. Love Nick.

"Watching a person treat a disease like a job doesn’t have a word to describe it. Inspiring doesn’t do it justice, brave…. ? No not right. There needs to be a new word created for this experience. People fighting a disease ARE brave, ARE inspiring but it doesn’t really explain what they endure whether they survive the fight for their life or not. The problem is that if they do survive, the fight isn’t ever over. Your body is scared inside and out, you live in fear of reoccurrence, you view life differently as the clock is now ticking faster than you can keep up with. You’re now trying to make up for lost time as you’ve just spent 3-4 years far from what you imagined the “prime of your life” to be. After witnessing my wife’s survival and then to watch her persist as the mother, partner, person and driven person that she is…. the NEW word I’ve decided to describe this particular situation is Julie. My wife."

Being able to do what I love and am passionate about for my job will be something I will always be grateful for.

I know that by doing my services for others, I’m able to be a part of an amazing and honouring transformation. A few years ago, I wanted to put something together in the form of giving back to a deserving individual in my community because I know the value of pampering and self-love through Beauty + Style, and realize not everyone has this opportunity. Since my original nomination giveaway, it’s blossomed into a beautiful thing with very appreciative and deserving Women as recipients.

Our most recent Time Capsule Nomination was an emotional one. It was hard to pick a Winner because we were so moved by each and every person who took the time to write in a nomination for someone selfless in their life, but it was how we felt from these write-ins that made us realize how much this could mean for someone.

To give back in a way that could change the trajectory of someone’s life is a powerful thing and one that leaves a warm and fuzzy feeling inside and the desire to keep spreading appreciation and kindness.

We are so honoured to meet and spoil our Winner! This will be a moment in time for not only you but us all involved as well!
– Christina Petry, Red Carpet Ready

It was such an honour to be invited to collaborate on the Time Capsule.  We couldn't think of a more heartfelt way to give back to our wonderful community.

We took our time reading through each submission; each nominee evoked such a compassionate emotional response in us - we soon realized that choosing a 'Winner' would prove to be very difficult. We had a profound realization that many of us walk through so much adversity and challenge, often very quietly, with little support or recognition.

This wonderful contest made us acknowledge that love, support, and dedication to our friends and family are paramount. Sharing acts of kindness with strangers could change someone's day or year, as we never know what those around us are silently going through. This has shown us that we must strive to be so grateful for everything in our lives and be truly immersed in the present moment, as the future is unknown to us all.

Kindness, generosity, support, and an incredible makeover is one way we can shine a light on such adversity. Let’s keep that going.

We are honoured to meet and move through this experience with Julie.

With love and sincere gratitude,

Teal & Amanda

This is a very emotional nomination process for me for so many reasons.

The biggest one being a letter I wrote to my mother a few months before she passed away.

I was able to tell her exactly what she meant to me, how she had shaped me and how much I was going to miss her and how I would continue to live once she was gone.

I want to encourage people to take the time and write about the person/people that impact them the most.

Secondly, I love capturing people from behind my lens. I love helping people see themselves the way the world sees them, with a rose-coloured lens.
